I'm trying to save humanity: We're going to run out of oil, and need to have a replacement in place before that happens. I believe the only viable long term solution is to go to the source - the Sun - and transform solar energy into an accessible form on a massive scale.

The objective of The L5 Development Group is to build a constellation of solar power satellites in Earth orbit, beaming energy into the world's electric grids. In the course of achieving that goal, a Lunar base and space colonies at L5 will be constructed, permanently establishing an off-world presence for humanity. This will also open a universe of possibliities for exploration and research that is literally beyond our imagination - we won't know the range of opportunities until we get there.

My immediate objective is to secure funds to develop the "infotainment" book Race To Space presented on this site. In writing the book, I'm aiming at getting it onto the "best sellers" lists in conjunction with a blockbuster movie release. These goals are meant to gain a significant return on the investment, to draw more attention to the problem, and to popularize the solution I'm proposing. At the same time, I will also be creating a much more thoroughly developed and documented business plan, with the level of detail needed to secure the next round of investment for the L5 Development Group.

For a variety of reasons, it is imperative that this project moves forward as quickly as possible, not the least of which is the fact we are running out of time before the oil supply is depleted.
